Graphic design proposal years3 (p1)

Proposal-1

Fashion is a kind of lifestyle

My view in fashion
Fashion is a breakthrough of the tradition. It is a idea full of creative and innovation. Stylish is not only about dressing or the outlook of a hardware. The more critical point is the new way of thinking or concept.

Problem
Many people are asking for more trendy fashion without thinking, such as those not mature teenager and shopping addict. They are chasing the trendy stuff without thinking. They do not understand the real meaning of trendy and fashion. Stylish or trendy is all about innovation and creation not following the others. At the same time, this behaviour cause them into trouble, including economical and psychological problems.

Target Audience
Not mature teenager
Shopping addict
Women

Objectives
Hope people to understand what is fashionable.

And hope that they can continue to chase fashion, like fashion.

Let people know the more critical point is the new way of thinking or concept.

The Use of type in Fashion Field

Introduction:

Text The art of typography (the design of font and type) is seeing an upsurge in the world of design. In a visual merchandising context, typography can be used to provide information and/or feature as part of the decoration and backdrops. (Sarah Bailey, Jonathan Baker. February 2014)

An exploration of the world of fashion covers history, production, design, innovation, advertising, psychology, geography, and influence. (Christopher Breward. April 2003)

In the European culture of the 1950s, Helvetica was 'functional'; in America in the 1970s it was 'classy'; and in 1980s Britain it ... was known as the designer decade, and designers were the heroes of both popular and high culture and fashion. (Simon Downs. March 2013)

Japanese designer Masashi Kawamura:

Masashi Kawamura is a creative director and the founder of PARTY, a creative lab based in Tokyo and New York, which believes that "new creations are born from new creative process".

                                                   figure 2: Designer Masashi Kawamura

Masashi Kawamura has found a beautiful way to mix typography and couture with the ‘T’ Shirt line. As his site describes so well - ‘T’ shirts are T shirts that was designed to have the silhouette of 5 famous typefaces; Helvetica, Caslon, Baskerville, Courier, and Cooper Black.

In the world of typography, terms such as typeface, character, body, etc are used to describe the form of a letter. The reason why they use expressions closely related to a human body, is perhaps because each different letter has a distinct quality and personality, in a similar way that us humans are all unique.
In the designing process of these shirts, researcher aimed to capture the character of each typeface and tried to give them a unique look and presence once worn. By collaborating with Itaru Yonenaga, the researcher feel we were able to produce a collection of shirts that is not only conceptual, but wearable as real clothes. I hope you will find your favorite shirt/typeface.

Problem statement:

Develop animation technique, exploring type and fashion to create an animation.
