VT 2006 VISUAL COMMUNICATIO AND CULTURAL MEANINGTASK 2

Task – Using creative solutions, illustrate the conflict between human nature and cultural sensitivities. The solutions should be controversial and challenging as well as being creative.

Only from word literally meaning explained, means: double income, no kids. Passive choice not to have children would not be called DINK it? The problem seems to be difficult to answer, because the passive may be due to physiological, economic, personal development or family non-physiological factors.
Therefore, the most reasonable definition: double occupation, but choose not to fertility and subjectively consider themselves DINK couples or individuals, called Dink. Dink primary criterion: fertility and choose not to birth, in addition to the initiative barren, also may be subjective or objective reasons choose not to passively fertility. Second, acceptance and recognition of the subjective own DINK - they think DINK is a way of life - this is a very important factor. And in real life, it is also the accredited DINK role groups, and better able to adhere to their own choice, and operate and enjoy their DINK life.

In China, there is a saying that a family is a cell of the whole society. The half centry has saw China's family structure experience a dramatic change. Chinese family structure experienced the transition from ' Extended Family' to 'Nuclear Family' to ' Dink Family'. Three or four generations living under the same roof is the ideal family structure in 1900s-1950s. Extended family structure remained the dominant family structure from the 1970s to mid-1980s. In late 1970s, China carried out its 'Family Planning Policy". 'Nuclear family' taken place of 'Extended family'.

Today, more and more "Dink Families" are emerging in this fast-rising country. Do you know what a dink family is? I guess ' dink family' is more familiar to you than me. A family consisting of " One Couple with No Kids" is defined as a " Dink Family". There is a phenomenon in China that many young couple prefer living a life with no kids. The reason might be quite varied. Some elder people said that the young generation of Chinese are trying to avoid responsibility, since bringing up a child needs the couple to shoulder a lot of responsibilities. Some young Chinese insist that they want to live a free life different from the life of their predecessors. Who do you think of this issue? Does 'a dink family' mean that the couple is lack of a sense of responsibility? Would you like to have a 'Dink family"?

Why I disagree ?
I think when we become old, having no kids will give us a sense of isolation and loneliness. When we are young, we can do anything we want. Enjoy the freedom of being alone or only staying with the beloved partners. When we become senile, the need to be cared by some one of the next generation would mount. The traditional value still has its significance.

My sketch

My final work
Although the Dink family have income, no need to burden the cost of living of the child's, so thy have enough money to endowment when they become old, this piece of posters to express that they have enough money to pension. In their view this is a good things, so i design a dollar on their crutches, they stood face to face with a smile looks happy. The reason i used the black background because it looks enough melancholy and black background because it looks enough melancholy and let others feel that they were not happy. The main part i use red color to emphasize the main body of the entire poster.
