Graphic Design

 


                Graphic Design is a creative process undertaken in order to convey a specific message to a target audience. The term graphic design refers to a number to artistic professional designs that focus on visual communication and presentation. The field as a whole is often referred to as Visual Communication or Communication Design. Various methods are needed to create and combine the words, symbols and images to create a visual presentation of ideas or messages.

                In our daily life we pass around through lot of graphic elements. From road signs to technical schematics, from interoffice memorandums to reference manuals, graphic design enhances transfer of knowledge. Readability is enhanced by improving the visual presentation of text. Design can also help in ads and selling a product in market. It is applied to all products and elements of company identity logo, color, packing and text. Together these are defined as Brand. Textbooks are designed in particular layout illustration, theories and diagram to convey the contents easier and simpler. A common example of graphical representation used in textbook is human anatomy.  Graphic design is applied in entertainment industry in decoration, scenery and visual telling. Other examples include  novel, comic books, DVD covers, credits in a film industry.

Page Layout
Interface Design
Print making

                The pencil is one of the most important tools of graphic design. Use of computer of graphic design from 1980’s developed this industry into a big market. Computer generated graphic enabled designer to instantly see the effects or changes and so can manipulate it further without wasting time.
